City Tour,Sacred Valley , Machu Picchu

Enjoy 3 days of activities, history and culture with our 3-day tour in package, which includes a Cusco city tour, Sacred Valley tour, and tour of Machu Picchu. It’s the perfect itinerary for catching all the cultural essentials on a short trip.

On the City Tour you’ll visit 7 of the most important historical sites in Cusco, starting from the Cathedral of Cusco and heading to Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun, and finally visiting the four archaological sites around Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, Pukapukara and Tambomachay.

On the second day you’ll have a journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas with visits in Pisac (market and ruins) and Ollantaytambo. By the end of the day you can choose to return to your hotel in Cusco or stay in Ollantaytambo to take the trains to Machu Picchu, depending of your itinerary discussed with your agent.

On the third and last day, the highlight of your trip to Peru: Machu Picchu! You can either depart from Cusco to visit Machu Picchu or spend the night in Aguas Calientes on the night before your visit – you are flexible to discuss the best itinerary with your agent and we’ll make your dreams come true!

Itinerary

1

We will meet you at your hotel lobby at 1:00 pm to begin this tour. From here you will head to Cusco’s Plaza de Armas where you will visit the famous Cathedral. After touring this sacred church, you will walk through an ancient Inca built street going from the Plaza de Armas to Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun. In Qoricancha you will see the contrast between the Inca culture and Catholicism, as well as the different building methods used. The Inca constructions here are amazing as this was the main temple of the Incas, where all their highways used to depart from. The high altar made in bronze in the Catholic church is one of the highlights.

After Qoricancha your group will walk down to Avenida El Sol, where you will take your bus to drive up and outside of the city. It will take 25 min until you arrive at the majestic Inca site of Sacsayhuaman, where your guide will lead you around. You will have extra time to explore it on your own.

From Sacsayhuaman, you will take a short bus-ride to Qenqo. Here, you will see ancient altars from the Inca times! Next, we will continue to Puca Pucara, a small circular Inca site. Finally, you will visit Tambomachay, the temple of water with its impressive water fountains.

We will then drive back to Cusco, and the tour will end at the Main Square (Plaza de Armas). Private tours will end back at your hotel.

RECOMMENDATIONS

IN CUSCO:

We recommend buying the 10 day tourist ticket for 130 Soles, which will give you access to all of the ruins sites in the Sacred Valley and in Cusco, as well as other attractions and museums in Cusco.

IN MACHU PICCHU:

If you are looking for an additional challenge once you arrive in Machu Picchu, there are some excellent hiking options.

  1. SUN GATE: It is a short hike up from the ruins and is always available and free to the public. This is a wonderful place to visit with amazing views to Machu Picchu.
  2. HUAYNA PICCHU MOUNTAIN: The most famous additional climb to do while in there that provides spectacular views of the ruins and surrounding area. This must be booked in advance for an additional cost, and often sells out. The climb takes 45 minutes and is moderately difficult. This is not recommended if you have vertigo or do not like heights.
  3. MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAIN: Another great option to climb up and see the ruins from a different angle. A 1.5 hours steep climb and can be very physically demanding, but the spectacular views from the top definitely make it worthwhile. This must be booked in advance for an additional cost, and often sells out
